Please note that this lecture will be conducted in Japanese.
Overview
In this introductory workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of GPU programming using OpenACC. The session will begin with an overview of GPUs and GPU-based computation, followed by basic techniques for developing programs with OpenACC.
What is a GPU?
Originally designed for handling graphics and video processing, a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) excels at performing simple operations in parallel, although it is less suited to complex instructions compared to a CPU. Due to its high computational throughput, GPUs are now widely used in general-purpose computing (GPGPU), including in modern supercomputers. To utilize GPUs for computation, programming tools such as CUDA or OpenACC are required.
