FAQ

Q: How long will SQUID and ONION-file remain available?

A: SQUID and ONION-file will be available until June 30, 2027. However, only users who apply for continued SQUID use in FY2027 will be able to use the SQUID computing service during FY2027. Even if you do not apply for continued use, you will still be able to access your data in read-only mode until June 30, 2027.

Note: Applications for continued use in FY2027 are scheduled to open around late February 2027.

Q: Can I retrieve my data even if I do not apply for SQUID use in FY2027?

A: Yes. Even if you do not apply for continued SQUID use in FY2027, you will be able to access your data in read-only mode until June 30, 2027.
Please retrieve all necessary data by that date.

Q: Will SQUID data be migrated to OCTOPUS or a future system?

A: No. The D3 Center will not perform any data migration.
Users are responsible for retrieving all necessary data before the applicable data retrieval deadline.

Q: Can the data retrieval deadline be extended?

A: No. Data will no longer be accessible after the service ends.
Please complete retrieval of all necessary data by June 30, 2027 for SQUID and ONION-file, and by March 31, 2027 for ONION-object.

Q: Is a next-generation system planned?
