Overview
This information session is intended for those who are newly considering using the mdx II system. We will introduce an overview of mdx II, its features, how to use it, and the application procedures. This session is ideal for those planning to utilize large-scale data processing, AI, and machine learning.
What is mdx II?
“mdx II” is an OpenStack-based virtual server computing platform installed at The University of Osaka and operated by the Data Utilization Platform Consortium. Unlike traditional supercomputers, it allows each user to launch high-performance virtual servers and freely configure their computing environments, including the use of Windows environments. It also supports a wide range of use cases that are difficult with batch-type processing typical of supercomputers, such as always-on applications and interactive visualization. For more details, please refer to here. This service is ideal for those facing the following challenges:
- Want to perform advanced computations using high-performance CPUs and GPUs
- Lack space or budget to install servers in the laboratory
- Need a computing environment only for a short period for research or teaching
- Want to combine computational processing with web applications in research
For program details and registration, please refer to the pages below.
*Both sessions will have the same content, so please join on a date that is convenient for you.
