1.Overview

Since 2007, Cybermedia Center, Osaka University has been opening the use of large-scale computer systems to private companies with the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's " Creation of Innovation Centers for Advanced Interdisciplinary Research Areas Program” (Implemented from 2009 to 2010 as the "Advanced Common Facility Sharing Promotion Project"). Our service has been open to private sectors and enterprises as a contribution to society since 2012.
 

2. Application requirements

  • To conform the regulations established by Cybermedia Center, Osaka University
  • To be used in Japan
  • To use only for the purpose of the adopted proposal
  • To limit to peaceful uses only
  • To give consideration to the protection of human rights and interests
  • To conform to Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "Initiatives for Bioethics and Safety"
  • To conform to Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "Security Export Control"
  • To be able to submit promptly a proposal report after the end of the usage period

 

3.Recruitment proposal

Recruitment proposal will be open to a maximum of 15% of each computer resource, including Industrial Use (result disclosure type) and Industrial Use(result non-disclosure type). Since it may not be possible to use up to the upper limit of computer resources due to other industrial use proposals and the status of provision of computer resources to researchers, please contact us in advance.

5.The service charge

The service charge is the amount stipulated in the Osaka University Cybermedia Center Large-Scale Computer System regulations.

6.The utilization period

After the approval of the application for use, it can be used for one year. However, it cannot be used beyond the fiscal year.
 

7.The regulations of use

Regarding the use of large-scale computer systems, you are required to comply with the regulations for using large-scale computer systems established by Cybermedia Center, Osaka University.
 

8.Examination of proposal

The High Performance Computer Systems Committee will examine whether the content of the application form is suitable for the following items and conduct a hearing as necessary.

  • The proposal requires large-scale calculations
  • The content must not be contrary to the regulation of Osaka University Cybermedia Center Large-Scale Computer System

 

9.Application method and notification of screening result

Please fill in the necessary items on the application form and send it by post to the person in charge of Information and Communications Technology Services Infrastructure Division, Cybermedia Center, Osaka University. In addition, please send the same proposal application form to (system@cmc.osaka-u.ac.jp) by e-mail. If you wish to sign a confidentiality agreement when sending, please let us know before sending.

There is no specific application period. We are recruiting all year round. The results of the examination will be notified by e-mail about 3 weeks after receiving the application form.
 

10.Submission of contract

Companies that are recognized as having an issue will be required to submit a pledge that they will comply with the content of the application form and the application requirements. Please fill in the required information and submit it by post.

After submitting the pledge, you can use a large-scale computer system by applying for user registration on the website.
 

11.Proposal report

When the usage period ends, it is necessary to submit a proposal report.
In principle, the issue report is open to the public and may be published in the Center's public relations. However, if you apply in advance, we may allow you to postpone publication for a period not exceeding 3 years.
 
In addition, if you want to continue using the service beyond the fiscal year, you will need to submit the details of the usage in the usage period of the relevant fiscal year in the user report and the research achievement report. In addition, when making a presentation in a paper or press release, please clearly state that you have used this system.
In the case of Industrial Use (result disclosure type), the report is open to the public in principle and may be posted in the Center's public relations. If we apply in advance, we may allow postponement of publication for a period not exceeding 3 years. In the case of Industrial Use(result non-disclosure type), the report will not be to the public outside the Cybermedia Center.
 

12.Handling of Intellectual Property

In principle, intellectual property generated during the usage period belongs to the user company. If you have any questions, please contact us.
