Software Updates on SQUID Following the End-of-FY2024 Maintenance
SQUID
- The following software updates have been implemented:
module load BaseCPU
– for general-purpose CPU nodes (Intel compiler)module load BaseGCC
– for general-purpose CPU nodes (GNU compiler)module load BaseGPU
– for GPU nodesmodule load BaseVEC
– for vector nodes
General Purpose CPU Nodes | GPU Nodes | Vector Nodes | Frontend Server | Storage | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Compiler | Intel oneAPI 2023.2.0 → 2025.0.1 | NVIDIA HPC SDK 23.11 → 25.1 CUDA 11.8 → 12.6 cuDNN 8.8.1.3 → 9.8.0.87 |
NEC SDK 5.2 → 5.3.0 | Same compilers as installed on compute nodes | DDN Lustre 2.12.9-ddn39-1.e18 → 2.14.0-ddn162 |
Communication Library | Intel MPI 2021.11 → 2021.14.0 OpenMPI 4.0.5 → 4.1.4 |
OpenMPI 4.1.4 → 4.1.8 | NEC MPI 3.3 → 3.8.0 | Same communication libraries as installed on compute nodes | |
Drivers | nvidia-driver 525.85.12-1 (CUDA 11.8) → 570.133.07 (CUDA 12.6) | VEOS 3.3.0-1 → 3.5.0-1 | |||
Mellanox OFED 23.04-1.1.3.0 → 23.10-3.2.2.0-LTS | |||||
OS | Rocky 8.8 → Rocky 8.10 | RHEL 8.8 → 8.10 | Equivalent to RHEL7 (custom OS) |
To use the updated environments, please execute the following commands:
If you encounter any runtime errors, please recompile your programs in the updated environment.
Intel Compiler
- In BaseCPU/2025, the compiler remains Intel oneAPI 2023.2.0 with Intel MPI 2021.11, the same as last year. To use the newly installed Intel oneAPI 2025.0.1 and Intel MPI 2021.14, please execute:
module load /system/apps/env/cpu/Compiler/inteloneAPI/2025.0
Python
- Python 3.11 is now available. Please use
BasePy/2025
to access it. About Data Migrated from OCTOPUS
- For users who used OCTOPUS in FY2023 and applied for SQUID in FY2024, data had been migrated from OCTOPUS to SQUID. However, this data has now been deleted due to the migration deadline.
