Society 5.0, which Japan is aiming for, is an inclusive society where everyone can enjoy the benefits of data utilization with peace of mind. In order to realize such a society, it is important for the public and private sectors to work together to develop an information infrastructure that can be used for a wide range of purposes and to form a human environment that connects people who want to analyze data with analysis technology and public data, with universities and research institutes that play a central role in knowledge aggregation as hubs.
For these initiatives, a secure and high-speed computing platform "MDX: Platform for the Data-Driven Future," was installed at the Kashiwa II Campus of the University of Tokyo at the end of fiscal 2020. MDX is jointly operated by nine universities and two research institutes and began trial operation in September 2021 and is being used for various research projects.
In this symposium, experts from a wide range of fields will give lectures on advanced initiatives to promote data utilization and examples of its use in various regions and fields. At the same time, we will also conduct a tutorial on using MDX.
