SX-ACE will be shut down on Feb. 28, 2021 and SQUID, a new supercomputing sytem, will be available from May 1 2021. In this page, the service schedule pertaining to SX-ACE and SQUID, data migration from SX-ACE to SQUID, and SQUID Free Trial (May 1 until Jul. 31) are detailed.
For those who plan to use SQUID, please carefully read this page.
For those who plan to use OCTOPUS, please renew your service application. We will start the renewal procedure from March 2021.
* Note that this page is written for those who currently use SX-ACE and OCTOPUS. For those who plan to use our supercomputing systems from Apr. 2021, please wait for our next announcement planed around Apr. 2021.

Data migration from SX-ACE to SQUID
The Cybermedia Center will perform data migration from SX-ACE to SQUID on behalf of those who belongs to the above “A” and apply to the SQUID Free trial Program. The data of which the representative of service application is in charge are migrated from SX-ACE to SQUID.

How to apply for SQUID Free Trial Program and the data migration from SX-ACE to SQUID
Applications are accepted on a group basis. Please apply using the form below on behalf of the application representative.

FAQ
Q: Will a new account be assigned when using SQUID?
A: The account used in SX-ACE and OCTOPUS can also be used in SQUID.(Accounts starting with "rcnp" cannot be used in SQUID. Ask for the administrator of RNCP, Osaka University.)
Q: Is there a fixed service charge system of SQUID?
A: You will be charged from August 1st, but details are under consideration. We will announce it as soon as it is decided.
Q: Can I use SQUID only during the free trial program?
A: Yes. Please cooperate with our questionaire.
Q: In 2020, we used SX-ACE or OCTOPUS in the Trial Use. Can I apply for the free trial program? Will the data be migrated?
A: No data migration will be performed. We plan to open the SQUID Free trial Program later than the mid of May 2021.
Q: What happens to the data on SX-ACE if I am not eligible for data migration or if I do not apply for data migration?
A: It will be deleted when the SX-ACE service ends. Your own download from SX-ACE is essentially required.
Q: If the application representative applies, will everyone in the group be eligible for free trial use / data migration?
A: Yes. All users in the group managed by the application representative are eligible for the Free Trial Program and the data migration from SX-ACE to SQUID.
Q: Is it possible to apply individually instead of in groups?
A: It is possible, but in that case it will be treated as a "first application for system use". We plan to accept applications and start using the Free Trial in mid-May 2021.
