Changes to terms of service charge and seasonal coefficient (November 2022 - )

Due to the recent global situation and the rapid yen depreciation, fuel cost is soaring and making it extremely difficult financially to operate large-scale computer systems under the current service charge system. Therefore, we will make the following changes to the policy about the seasonal coefficient of OCTOPUS and SQUID, and urgently set the seasonal coefficient to 3.0 from November 2022. This change was officially approved through procedures within the University and the High-Performance Computer Systems Committee, which is composed of experts in high-performance computer systems from inside and outside the university. About the changes to service charge

We will change the details in (1) Service charge for OCTOPUS and remark 8 of (2) Service charge for SQUID as follows.

Before change: Until October 31, 2022 The seasonal coefficient should be set to a value greater than 0 and less than or equal to 1 based on the usage status of the previous year.
After Change: From November 1, 2022 The seasonal coefficient is set based on the usage status of the previous year.
